The Pause Job feature in Toggl Hire allows employers to temporarily pause an open job posting. This can be helpful when you need to take a break from receiving new applications but still want to continue processing candidates already in your pipeline. Here's how the feature works and how you can use it effectively.

How to Pause a Job

Pausing a job is quick and straightforward. Follow these steps:

  1. Log In to Toggl Hire:

    • Go to your Toggl Hire account and navigate to the dashboard.

  2. Select the Job:

    • Select the job you want to pause from your list of active jobs.

  3. Go to Job Settings:

    • Navigate to job settings within the job pipeline.

  4. Pause the job:

    • Scroll down to the Pause Job option.

    • Confirm your action to pause the job.

    • Once paused, the job’s status will change to "Paused" in your dashboard.

What Happens When You Pause a Job?

  1. New Applications Are Restricted:

    • Once a job is paused, new candidates cannot apply to it, even if they access the job link. Instead, they will see a message indicating that the job has been temporarily paused.

  2. Current Candidates Are Not Affected:

    • Candidates who have already applied and are in your pipeline can still move through the recruitment stages. You can continue assessing them, scheduling interviews, and making decisions as usual.

  3. Job Visibility:

    • Paused jobs remain visible in your Toggl Hire dashboard, marked as "Paused," so you can easily manage them or reactivate them when you're ready.

How to Resume a Paused Job

When you're ready to start accepting new applications again, resuming a paused job is just as easy:

  1. Navigate to the paused job in your dashboard.

  2. Click on the Unpause Job option from the job settings.

  3. Confirm your action. The job will now be open for new applications.

Use Cases for Pausing a Job

  • Overwhelming Number of Applications: Temporarily pause the job to review the applications you’ve already received before opening it to new candidates.

  • Internal Changes: Use the pause feature if there are organizational changes or delays in the hiring process.

  • Seasonal Recruitment: Pause jobs during off-peak times and resume them when you're ready to hire again.

Final notes

  • Pausing a job does not affect the current candidates in your pipeline. You can continue working with them as usual.

  • Paused jobs are not deleted and can be resumed at any time.

  • Candidates attempting to apply to a paused job will see a message explaining that the job is temporarily unavailable.
